Tradition
We have been repairing and working with Scotland’s earth-built heritage since the early 1990s. Our practice combines conservation with innovation — honouring inherited knowledge while evolving new approaches. We work with national bodies such as Historic Environment Scotland and the National Trust for Scotland, alongside local groups and private clients. Techniques include mudwall (cob), earth masonry, wattle and daub, turf walls, light earth, clay plasters, and built-in earth furniture.
Current work includes Earthbound Orkney — a collaborative project exploring where archaeology meets ecology, architecture and art.
